Neighborhoods are the heart of the City

by Joe Spake on July 5, 2009

One of the advantages of being a Memphis Real Estate agent who claims an area of concentration is immersion in Neighborhoods.  Most Memphis residents know the neighborhoods to some extent.  Home buyers know where they want to be and usually have weighed the pros and cons of different areas that have homes that meet their criteria.  I encourage my clients from out of town to explore neighborhoods.  While I can answer general questions, I encourage my clients to get out and explore neighborhoods of interest – go at all hours of day and night; take a walk, talk to the locals, visit some neighborhood stores or restaurants.  Get the feel of it.

Central Gardens in Midtown has the tradition of the July 4th parade on Carr Avenue.  As you can see from the video, this is an EVENT!  After the short parade, there are patriotic songs, judging and awards for best costumes and decorations, free hotdogs, drinks, and watermelon and just a great Neighborhood feel.
